Project description: I.R.I.D. has been running a home which integrates schooling with a center for therapy as well as a rehabilitation program since 1987. This offer has been extended to the neighboring Barriadas (slums). Qualified personnel instruct and accompany families in dealing with their often severely handicapped children. They also teach mothers to better structure their day, so that they are able to work and better secure their livelihoods. This also helps to improve the integration of the children within the family and the community.
