Schooling for children with hearing difficulties

Project desription: Taki Mundo is the only school in the state of Michoacan offering instruction from specialized teachers for children with hearing difficulties. Sign- and acoustics-based language skills serve as the basis for teaching such children. Pupils are not taught only in regular subjects; courses in offset printing, computer training and sign language for youths and parents are also offered. Taki mundo realizes that linguistic integration must start early and that children at pre-school ages can already profit from adapted teaching

Contribution apia: apia funded the salary of a teacher for 6 to 8 pre-school children.
